Update your UniKey password for your email app

Your smartphone email app will no longer be able to connect with the credentials that were originally entered. You will need to update these settings or the app will continually attempt to connect using the incorrect password, locking out your account.

Update your UniKey password for your email app on an iPhone

Follow these steps to update your UniKey password on an iPhone:

  1. Tap Settings on the home page of your iPhone.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap your active Exchange account.
  4. Tap Account 'unikey@uni.sydney.edu.au'
  5. Replace the current password with your new password.

Update your UniKey password for your email app on an Android smartphone

Follow these steps to change your password on an Android smartphone:

  1. Tap on your Email app.
  2. Open the Settings menu (on a Galaxy phone, this is lcoated by pressing the Settings button to the left of the Home button).
  3. Tap on your email account.
  4. Tap More settings.
  5. Tap Exchange Server Settings.
  6. Replace the current password with your new password.

Some Android phones may have a slightly different menu configuration and email app. If you cannot find the password settings, please look at your handset’s instructional documentation or contact the ICT Helpdesk on 9351 6000.

There may be other applications, like the BlackBoard app, as well as login details saved by your browser that will need to be updated. These will prevent you from logging in by asking you to enter your UniKey and UniKey password again.
