Year 12 Winter Program

The Bunga Barrabugu Winter Program is an invitation-only, week-long academic intensive workshop to prepare Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Year 12 students for their end of school exams. This program also provides an experience of university life and understanding of enrolment opportunities. It provides participating high school students with valuable and memorable peer-to-peer support opportunities not only with each other, but also current University students and staff.

Throughout the week, students engage in a series of subject-based workshops in order to give them an opportunity to learn, revise and practice content with University academics. In addition, and in support of preparing for their HSC, students also participate in one-on-one study sessions at the end of each day with Compass volunteer tutors. Furthermore, lecturers and other staff in Business, Law, Arts & Social Sciences, Education & Social Work, Natural Sciences and Engineering & I.T. conduct faculty-specific activities and exercises spanning a range of possible career outcomes.
