The University of Sydney is a member of three international university networks. Our partners include some of the world’s leading universities, and with them we take part in research collaborations, academic and student exchanges, and discourse on global issues.

Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU)

APRU

The Association of Pacific Rim Universities APRU is a consortium of 42 leading Pacific Rim universities. Its aim is to foster cooperation in education, research and enterprise, and contribute to the region’s economic, scientific and cultural advancement.

The aim of the APRU is to foster cooperation in education, research and enterprise thereby contributing to economic, scientific, and cultural advancement in the Pacific Rim.

The University of Sydney's position in the APRU enables us to take a leading role in research and teaching and to collaborate with some of the world's leading universities.

Worldwide Universities Network (WUN)

WUN

The Worldwide Universities Network is a network of 18 research-led universities that helps to build global research communities by supporting collaboration. It has members in Australia and New Zealand, the United States, South America, Europe, China and South Africa.
The WUN alliance exists to make significant advances in knowledge and understanding in areas of current global concern. By fostering and encouraging collaboration between members WUN brings together the experience, resources and expertise necessary to address the challenges and opportunities currently facing societies, governments, business and education.

Academic Consortium 21 (AC21)

AC21

Academic Consortium 21 is an international partnership of leading research universities committed to innovation in education, research and academic governance through collaborative action.

The University is also an official knowledge partner of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Student exchange and study abroad partners

We have an extensive range of student exchange partners in Asia, the United States, Europe and Israel. We also have a number of study abroad program partners – these are non-profit or university-affiliated organisations based mainly in the United States.
