Networks and partners

The University of Sydney is a member of two leading international university networks. Our partners include some of the world’s leading universities, and with them we take part in research collaborations, academic and student exchanges, and discourse on global issues.

These groups are:

  • Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU)
APRU is a consortium of 42 leading Pacific Rim universities. Its aim is to foster cooperation in education, research and enterprise, and contribute to the region’s economic, scientific and cultural advancement.
  • Worldwide Universities Network (WUN)
WUN is a network of 18 research-led universities that helps to build global research communities by supporting collaboration. It has members in Australia and New Zealand, the United States, South America, Europe, China and South Africa.

The University is also an official knowledge partner of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). It is also a member of the OECD Higher Education Programme, a forum for education professionals to exchange experiences and ideas about issues of concern.

We have also established The University of Sydney South Asia Research Network (USSA) as a way of bringing together researchers working in different disciplines but with a shared interest in the South Asian region: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives.

Study Abroad and Exchange

The University of Sydney has an extensive range of student exchange partners in Asia, Canada, Israel, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Western Europe.

We also have a number of Study Abroad program partners – these are non-profit or University affiliated organisations mainly based in the United States of America - and a network of global agents.
