International Program Development Fund


The International Program Development Fund (IPDF) provides funding to University of Sydney academics to support initiatives in internationalisation. The aim is to foster international partnerships in research, teaching and learning, capacity building and other areas with high profile partners in priority areas.

Key dates

Applications will open on Monday 5 May and close at 5.00pm (AEST) on Friday 30 May. Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted.

We are holding an information session on Thursday 1 May 2014, 12-1pm at the International Portfolio, Seminar Room, John Woolley Building (entrance next to Wallace Theatre). Aims

The University of Sydney International Program Development Fund (IPDF) provides funding to University of Sydney academics to support initiatives in internationalisation. The aim is to foster international partnerships in research, teaching and learning, capacity building, and other areas with high profile partners in priority areas.

The IPDF assists early career researchers to establish international networks that will lead to sustainable long-term collaboration. Applicants are encouraged to submit funding applications for innovative and sustainable programs built around collaborative research and/or learning and teaching initiatives linking the University with the world’s leading academic institutions. 

Funding

IPDF grants will be allocated in one instalment, available from mid-January of the year following the application and should be spent within two years of allocation. The maximum amount that applicants can apply for is $AUD20,000 per grant.

Eligibility

Applications are welcome from post-doctoral fellows, academic and research staff at the University of Sydney in all disciplines. Chief Investigators on a project must hold a salaried appointment with the University of Sydney.

Additional points are allocated for applications with an Early Career Researcher as the Chief Investigator. Early Career Researchers are defined as a developing researcher who is normally within ten years of the submission date of their PhD and the holder of an academic or research position.

1. Read the International Program Development Fund guidelines (PDF).

2. Download the supporting documents listed below and attach them with your application.

3. Obtain letters of support from your co-collaborators.

4. Apply online.

Note: Applicants should start preparing their applications well ahead of the closing date as the supporting documentation required for a full IPDF application can take some time to compile. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
