Facilities and Amenities

International House has a fantastic range of facilities for residents to enjoy. These include:

Rooftop Garden
Residents can enjoy the rooftop garden area with barbecue and sheltered seating overlooking panoramic views of Sydney city skyline.

Gardens
Besides a garden in the rooftop there are gardens near the dining hall and in the inner courtyard.

Coffee Room
There is also a coffee room with microwaves, tea and coffee-making facilities and daily newspapers.

Library with Study Room
IH has a general library and study room with a range of reading materials and online access to the main campus library.

Computer Access Lab
The Computer Access Lab has modern computers, printer, photocopier and scanner. Students have access to the lab 24 hrs a day.

Sports room
IH has a sport room that includes billiards and table tennis. Residents can also use the University sport facilities in the main campus.

Necessity Shop
There is a necessity shop open in the evening during semesters.

Wool Room
It is the function area where many IH events take place. It has a grand piano and projection screen for movies. It is also used as a student common room and is a good place to sit and chat.

Car Park
International House has a small car park which provides residents with spaces for cars and motorbikes. There are also bicycle racks for push bikes.

Two television rooms
There are two television rooms in the House both with video facilities and free to air TV (one with cable TV).

The Laundry
The laundry has coin operated washing machines and dryers, and ironing facilities.

Log Cabin
IH has a Log Cabin in a national park (Belanglo State Forest , NSW). The cabin is totally furnished and is available for residents' use and other IH’s activities.

Dining Room
The dining room is always open, with large tables for studying, sharing group projects or socialising. Most of the socialising takes place in the dining room during meal times. There are, however, pantries on every floor equipped with a microwave, rice cooker, wok and fridge should residents require or wish to make their own snacks.
