Airport Arrival
Sydney is served by Kingsford Smith International Airport with direct flights from many major cities around the world. International House is only a short ride by taxi, shuttle bus, or train from the airport.

By Shuttle Bus
A shuttle bus cost approximately AU$10 one way. Tell the driver you are going to "International House, University of Sydney in Chippendale." The address is 96 City Road, Chippendale NSW 2008 (at the corner of City Road and Cleveland Street).
By Car
International House is at the corner of City Road and Cleveland Street in Chippendale. On street parking (metred) is usually available. Driving directions are available from www.whereis.com.au.
By Bus
Buses 422, 423, 426, and 428 go from Circular Quay (in the Sydney CBD) to Interational House. The fare ($1.60 - $2.70) is payable to the driver with coins or small bills (tell the driver you're going to the "University of Sydney").
In the Central Business District (CBD), the buses go on Castlereigh Street (from Martin Place onward), pass Central Station (Railway Square stop), down Broadway, and turn left onto City Road. International House is directly at the second stop on City Road at the corner of Cleveland Street.

By Rail
International House is serviced by two City Rail Stations - Central and Redfern. From Central Station, you can take a bus, a taxi, or walk for about 20 minutes.
The City Rail Airport Link takes about 13 minutes and costs AU$11.60 (one way) from the International/Domestic Airport to Central Station. Central Station is four stops from the International Airport Station and three stops from the Domestic Airport Station (towards the city).

From Central Station
From Central Station by Bus: You can take buses 422, 423, 426 or 428 from Railway Square (on George Street) to "University of Sydney" (direction away from the city). The bus ride cost $1.60 and can be paid in cash to the driver (coins or small bills accepted). International House is directly at the second stop on City Road.
From Central Station by Foot: Walk on George Street away from the city (George Street becomes Broadway). Turn left at City Road. International House is at the corner of Cleveland Street.
From Redfern Station by Foot (only): Turn left onto Lawson Street, right onto Abercrombie Street, and left onto Cleveland Street. International House is at the corner of Cleveland Street and City Road (there are faster but more complicated ways). No bus service connects Redfern Station and International House (except a shuttle bus for University of Sydney students). Consider taking the train to Central Station instead.

By Taxi
A taxi ride from the airport costs about AU$30. The address is 96 City Road, Chippendale NSW 2008 (at the corner of City Road and Cleveland Street).
By Rental Car
From the International Airport, take Princes Highway towards the City (it becomes Kings Street and then City Road). International House is located at 96 City Road. Parking is available at International House but you must arrange a parking space for you car before you arrive (fees payable).

Once You Arrive
The front office is open 9am-5pm Monday through Friday. At all other hours, please dial extension 9807 at the front entrance intercomm and a Senior Resident (resident caretaker) will come to check you in. Please advise us if you will arrive late at night (after midnight) or early in the morning (before 8am).
