Objectives

Analyse the concept of breach of contract, the concept of standard of duty and the law’s requirements for proof of breach.
Consider the circumstances in which breach of contract confers a right of termination.

Self-help - enforcement of a right (termination) rather than a remedy (damages); express provisions for termination ("termination clauses"), their drafting, exercise and consequences

1 x Compulsory Essay (25%)
1 x Exam or 1 x Long Essay (75%)
