Brief Biographical Detail

Belinda Bennett is Professor of Health and Medical Law and teaches health law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Belinda has been an elected Fellow of the University of Sydney Senate (2009-11). She was a member of the University’s Academic Board from 2006-11, and has been Chair of the Academic Board’s Academic Staffing Committee (2008-09), and Chair of the Academic Board’s Academic Standards and Policy Committee (2010-11). Within the Faculty of Law Belinda has been Director of the Centre for Health Governance, Law and Ethics (2005-09); Pro-Dean (Teaching Programs) (2005-06); Associate Dean (International) (2008); Associate Dean (Postgraduate Coursework) (2000-01); and the Faculty’s first Director of Teaching Development (1995). Belinda was a founding Board Member of the Australian Institute for Health Law and Ethics (AIHLE). She is the Deputy Editor of the Journal of Law and Medicine and a member of the International Editorial Board of the International Journal of Law in Context.
