Brief Biographical Detail
Micah Burch comes to Sydney Law School from New York after serving on the faculty of the NYU School of Law in the Graduate Tax Program where he taught courses on Tax Procedure, Tax Policy, and Timing Issues. Before that, Micah taught in NYU’s Lawyering Program for two years. Prior to joining the NYU faculty Micah worked for four years as a tax attorney in New York at the firms of Goodwin Procter and Kirkland & Ellis. Micah also worked for nearly three years in the book publishing industry as a co-founder and General Counsel of Vertical, an independent house specializing in translations of popular Japanese fiction and non-fiction. He graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1999 after studying in Japan as a Fulbright Fellow, and received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Princeton in 1995.
