Program

The Symposium program comprises of two one day workshops to be held on Wednesday 28 November, followed by a two day conference on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 November 2012.

The program also includes a delegate dinner to be held on the evening of Thursday 29 November.

The full conference program will be available from October 2012.

The program sessions have been designed with the following goals in mind;

  • To define principles of best practice for working with children, including children with disabilities, in situations of forced migration and/or those with disabilities
  • To identify challenges facing refugee children, including children with disabilities and examine gaps in the existing evidence base about the best ways of addressing these challenges;
  • To formulate advocacy strategies to raise awareness of issues for children, including children with disabilities, in displacement at national, regional and international levels of policy development; and
  • To make recommendations on mechanisms for coordination and collaboration to address gaps, share lessons and advocate.
