Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) - Grants & Initiatives

The Australian Learning and Teaching Council recognises, rewards and supports outstanding teaching and practice in higher education. Funding is currently available for three programs as well as extension grants. It also undertakes special initiatives.

IMPORTANT: All grant applications must be endorsed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Education via the Learning and Teaching Office before being sent to the ALTC. Applicants must ensure that they send their completed endorsement letter and project details to the Learning and Teaching Office at least two weeks prior to the ALTC due date.

Grant Programs

The Grants Scheme has three programs:

  • Innovation and Development Grants
  • Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching
  • Strategic Priority Projects

Special Initiatives

From time to time the ALTC commissions work and undertakes special initiatives. Currently the following initiatives are available:

  • Promoting Excellence Initiative
  • Teaching Quality Indicators
  • Good Practice Reports
