Email, Privacy and the Right to Information
All University staff need to be aware of the impact of access to information and privacy legislation on the way they use email at work. This important session will explain the laws and their impact on staff as well as how email should be managed. We will consider the relevant University policies, the Privacy Management Plan and rights of access to University records in general and email in particular.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, participants should understand:
- their basic rights and obligations as University staff in handling personal information of students, staff and the general public; and
- the intersection of email management and recordkeeping with protection of personal information.
