2.3 Types of references: Journals, newspapers and journal articles

Journals appear regularly, either weekly, monthly or annually and usually have many different authored articles on a generally similar subject area ranging from very specialized to broad coverage. A journal’s title can be searched for under journals in the catalogue. Online and physical journal titles will be listed here. More detail can be found in Module 9: Finding Additional References Advanced Searching Journals.

Newspapers are journals too. We have many newspapers online as well as in microform or sometimes in paper form.

Journal articles are the contents of journals. You will frequently be required to locate journal articles either from given references or as additional references.

Can you locate this in our catalogue? Try the journal title in the Catalogue and the journal article title in CrossSearch.
