Search for all articles by Les Irwig
If you haven't already opened Medline please click on a database link in the frame to the right.
Type the author's name, Les Irwig as irwig l (surname space initial/s) in the search box and click the Author Icon, in the button bar.
The result is the screen.
You'll notice that there is an irwig lm.au. as well as irwig l.au. As we don't know which is Les Irwig make sure the checkboxes for both options are marked.
Then click on: to continue.
You should now be looking at the main search screen with your recent search results posted in the Search History display. Columns from left to right are:
|#||search set number|
|Searches||terms and fields searched|
|Results||number of citations found|
|Display||displays first 10 citations|
Another way to get the same result is just to type irwig l*.au. in the search box and enter.
By typing .au. we have specified a search of the author field.
The * is the truncation symbol enabling all possible second initials to be searched and retrieved.
The results for both searches should be the same as the first set, over 190 citations.
Now we are leaving Medline.
Click in the top navigation bar, to the right of the screen.
