Developing collaborative partnerships in Indonesia

High level delegation visit from Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology in Jakarta and Hasanuddin University in Makassar

SEIB/SIBRN recently received a high level delegation from the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology in Jakarta and Hasanuddin University in Makassar to facilitate future research collaboration and increased student exchange. The formation of this tripartite alliance is an important part of ongoing attempts to develop strong and durable links with academic partners within Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region as a whole. We had fruitful discussion across a range of subjects (see program) and a number of joint projects focussed on emerging infectious and non-communicable diseases have been identified. A delegation form the University of Sydney will pay a return visit to both institutions in May to cement the relationship and further advance the collaborative research efforts identified.
