Whole Genome Sequencing in Diagnostic Microbiology


CIDM-PH and SEIB are pleased to co-host a workshop on Whole Genome Sequencing in Diagnostic Microbiology.

The aim of this workshop is to give microbiologists an overview of the applications of next generation sequencing (NGS) in diagnosis and surveillance of infectious diseases. The emphasis will be onmethods of analysis of bacterial and viral genome sequencing data generated by NGS platforms, principally by benchtop Illumina and Ion Torrent, and on the
utility of NGS for infection control and public health.
