Medical research is increasingly expensive. However, with the generous support of our benefactors, Sydney Medical School is able to pursue exciting new areas of investigation.
Through the foundations associated with Sydney Medical School members of the community, professions and organisations provide the School with many hours of unpaid assistance. We are extremely grateful for this level of support and the hard work of our friends and colleagues in this endeavour.
In 2009, Professor Bruce Robinson, Dean of Sydney Medical School announced the renaming of the Medical Foundation (the school’s oldest foundation) to Sydney Medical School Foundation. This Foundation now acts as the major fundraising arm of the School.
In total, the research work of the School is supported by 12 foundations. These include:
- Sydney Medical School Foundation
Divisions of Sydney Medical School Foundation:

- Hoc Mai - the Australia Vietnam Medical Foundation
