From Prof Michael Kleerekoper, Alumni

My memories are numerous and all good. However I wanted to pay tribute to three former faculty members.

On Saturday, April 29th, 2006 I was honored by my specialty College when I was recognized by induction as a Master of the American College of Endocrinology.

I began my brief acceptance speech with a tribute to my former mentors at Sydney University the late Bill Hensley - Biochemistry, Geoff Kellerman - Biochemistry and Sol Posen - Internal Medicine.

These three outstanding faculty members set me on a career path where I have been able to achieve some successes. This would not have been possible if Hensley and Kellerman had not drummed into me the essence of working well in a laboratory, and Posen who simply taught me to think, to question, and, most important of all, how to be a teacher.

I will not be able to return for the celebrations this year but I am planning on getting back for my 40th reunion in 2010.

Best wishes
