In the late 1960's Dr. Philip Jobson established the Visiting Professor Program.
Dr. Jobson was one of the Foundation Fellows of the Faculty Of Anaesthetists, Royal Australian College Of Surgeons. This Faculty became The Australian & New Zealand College Of Anaesthetists in 1992.
Every three to four years, donated funds have enabled the Department to host an overseas anaethetist.
The 1st Visiting Professor to the University of Sydney & RPA Hospital Department of Anaesthetics was Professor E.M. Papper in 1969.
From the first Lectures presented by Professor Papper the guest list has included some distinguished visitors to the Department of Anaesthetics at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Chaired by Nuffield Professor of Anaesthetics.
