12 1993-94 $44,833 from the Committee for the Advancement of University Teaching, with Associate Professor D Farnill and Dr L Channon-Little, for research on professional communication skills in a multicultural context.
13 1993 $7,260 from the NSW Law Foundation for a study of Aboriginal people with intellectual disabilities appearing before NSW local courts.
14 1993 $42,435 from the Quality Assurance Project for the enhancement of university teaching, for a study evaluating clinical interviewing skills, with Associate Professor D Farnill.
15 1996-98 $61,189, consisting of $36,877 from the NSW Law Foundation and $12,156 from each of the NSW Departments of Corrective Services and Juvenile Justice, for research on development of a screening test for intellectual disability for use in criminal justice settings.
16 1998 $4,942, supplementary grant from NSW Law Foundation, for research in the use of the Hayes Ability Screening Index in legal aid offices.
17 1999 $12,000 - University of Sydney, Australian Research Council Small Grants Scheme - for research into "Validity, and gender/culture-fairness of a screening test for intellectual disability for juvenile offenders".  Rated by assessors in the top 5% of projects; rated by one assessor in the top 5%, and by the other assessor in the top 2% of investigators.
18 1999 $1,950 - University of Sydney Travel Grant to attend International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disability World Congress, Seattle.
19 2000-01 $90,000 - Consumer Education Trust Fund - for research into consumers with an intellectual disability - determining the extent of the problem and designing information and education resources.
