Master of Medicine - Information for current students
Welcome to the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney, and to your study in Paediatric Medicine. This information is aimed at making your transition to online study as efficient and as problem free as possible.
It is important for you to have the correct settings on your computer so that you can access all the learning material and tools available to you in your eLearning site "Blackboard Learn".
We suggest that you familiarise yourself with http://sydney.edu.au/elearning/student/index.shtml, as you will find all the information you need at this site: including all of your computer requirements (plugins for browsers, Adobe just to name a few), how to Log on etc.
To login to your eLearning subject(s), you need a password and your UniKey Login name. These login details will be posted to your nominated correspondence address. You should receive this in the mail the week before semester starts. For security reasons, your password is only sent by postal mail: no one else can access your password information.
If you have not received your password by the Wednesday before Semester starts, you should immediately email the ICT helpdesk (Information Technology support) at or call them on (61 2) 9351 6000. You should check to make sure that you can access all your eLearning sites via https://elearning.sydney.edu.au
Within each Paediatric Unit of Study, there is an introductory section called The Unit of Study Outline. This will help to familiarise you with the unit and will explain what is expected of you.
Late changes to Units of Study (that is, more than a week after commencement of the Semester) are not recommended. It would be necessary to catch up on all tasks already undertaken in the Unit and this would significantly impact on your learning.
We hope that you enjoy this learning experience.
