Kim Oates Australian Paediatric Simulation Centre

The Kim Oates Australian Paediatric Simulation Centre, at The Children's Hospital at Westmead, is a unique facility designed to train staff and students in the most cutting-edge treatments for sick children, especially in emergency scenarios.

Simulation provides a valuable training opportunity using advanced technology to replicate real-life scenarios and allow for experiential learning, educational innovation, collaboration and research.

Sydney Medical Student Study

SMP study

Sydney Medical Program (SMP) students have access to this study room, which is located in the main hospital building. You will find it at the second door on your right after you exit the Education Centre on level 3, opposite the Chinese Garden. Your swipe card will provide access to this area.

The computers in this room are provided by the CHW Clinical School for access to the Sydney Medical Program email and website. You will need to use your unikey username and password to access the internet.

Postgraduate Student Common Room

PG Common Room

The Postgraduate Student common room is located on level 3 of the Research Building (KRI). It has been furnished by the University of Sydney Union and funds from a postgraduate grant to the Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health.

The common room has food preparation facilities, lounges and a television.

Access can be obtained from the Postgraduate Research Student Administrative Officer.

Kids Research Institute (KRI) Student Workstations

KRI student workstations

Postgraduate students have access to workstations, located on level 2 of the Research Building, (KRI). The computers have SPSS and Photoshop software. There is also access to the CHW intranet and Sydney University. Communal software and hardware, scanner and colour printer are available within the Research Building. Cost of printing will be charged to the student's research department cost centre.
