Sydney Medical Program
Paediatric teaching occurs across the four years of the Sydney Medical Program, including Problem Based Learning cases, Independent Learning Activities, Summer Scholarships, Research (Honours) projects, Elective and PrInt terms.
The major paediatric component of the course is the seven week Stage 3 Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) Specialty Block. This includes clinical placements in paediatric medical, surgical and adolescent and community settings, including in rural and regional settings. Some students complete their CAH block at School of Rural Health sites. Also included is a program of structured teaching; workshops, lectures and clinical reasoning sessions. A limited number of four week Pre-Internship (PrInt) terms is available with general medical, general surgical and sub-specialty.
