Research interests

Professor Jones is Sub Dean Research for the Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health and a Paediatric Infectious Diseases Physician at the Children's Hospital at Westmead, where she is head of the Centre for Perinatal Infection Research, Her main research interests are in the field of childhood infectious diseases, in particular the mother to child transmission of viruses.

These include the epidemiology of perinatal herpesvirus infections (HSV, CMV), the effect of age on newborn immune response to viruses, the role of dendritic cells, and regulatory T cells in the immunopathogenesis of viral infections.
