The BH UDRH has several residential accommodation complexes available to students on placement in Broken Hill. Accommodation is also provided for students placed in remote communities at Menindee, Wilcannia, Wentworth (Dareton) and Bourke.
What to bring
Student accommodation facilities are fully self-contained. However, students are advised to bring their own towel/s as towels are not provided.
The accommodation is provided with a starter kit containing washing powder and toilet paper. Once these items have been utilised, students are to provide their own toilet paper and washing powder.
Wireless Internet is available in most student accommodation. Students are advised to utilize the Internet thoughtfully as this service does not provide unlimited Internet access.
On departure, deposit keys either in the ‘key return’ box located adjacent to the main entrance of selected facilities or to the Receptionist at the BH UDRH.
All students must vacate their rooms by 9am on the Friday of their last placement week.
Students can seek approval to stay on the last Friday night of their placement, at a cost of $50. To make this request, students must contact the Accommodation Manager during their first week
of placement, and then pay the fee if approved. Any requests made during the last week of placement will not be considered.
Students are not permitted to extend their accommodation period.

The Broken Hill residential accommodation is within easy walking distance to the BH UDRH and the Health Service and provides comfortable and modern living. The air-conditioned/heated facilities offer:
- single or double beds
- ensuite or shared bathrooms
- computer and internet facilities
- communal kitchen facilities
- common lounge room with TV & DVD equipment
- outdoor BBQ facilities
- access to mountain bikes.
