Capacity building

As forensic services continue to expand and grow, it is necessary to find appropriately trained staff who have the skills to develop new approaches to investigations from the crime scene to the postmortem. Building capacity in this highly skilled workforce is best undertaken through academically-driven research activities.

Developing the right capacity and mix of expertise is essential to ensure that forensic services are the best available to NSW. At the research level, new technologies open up additional opportunities for asking interesting and relevant research questions.

After initial market analysis, the main focus of the Network will be to build research and skills capacity at the PhD-level student.
