Gifts & Bequests

Why give?

A gift to Sydney Medical School Foundation is an investment in better health for the future. Our researchers are among the best in the world. The results of their research contribute to the greater understanding of the causes of disease that will lead to improved treatment options and, in many cases, prevention of diseases that cause premature death or long-term disability. These are their gifts to the world.

All research supported by the Foundation is made possible through gifts - either by annual giving or by planned giving through bequests, annuities or trusts. Sydney Medical School Foundation receives no government funding.

Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR)

Sydney Medical School Foundation is a foundation of the University of Sydney. The University of Sydney is endorsed as a deductible gift recipient under Subdivision 30-BA of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

Bequests play a large and most important role in enabling the continuation of our research programs providing, on average, 90% of the Foundation's income
