Pioneering Research Development and Education in Microsurgery

In 1973 the Microsearch Foundation of Australia was formed to promote research and training in microsurgery - the joining of very small blood vessels, nerves and tissues with the aid of an operating microscope.

In 2006, Microsearch became a Division of Sydney Medical School Foundation, the University of Sydney, and moved to state-of-the-art laboratories specialising in microsurgical research and training, together with gene therapy facilities and a tissue culture area.
