About us

On 3 November 2008 the University of Sydney Senate resolved to establish the Sydney Burns Foundation as a Division of the Medical Foundation.

The aim of the Sydney Burns Foundation is to support research, education and scholarship in the field of burns medicine and reconstructive surgery at the Sydney Medical School.

The inaugural Annual General Meeting of the Sydney Burns Foundation was held on Thursday 2 April 2009. The following office bearers were elected:

• Clinical Associate Professor Peter Haertsch, Chairman
• Professor Peter Maitz, Deputy Chairman
• Mr Kevin Cranfield, Treasurer
• The Hon. John J Fahey, Patron
