The aim of the Sydney Burns Foundation is to support research, education and scholarship in the field of burns medicine and reconstructive surgery at Sydney Medical School, the University of Sydney.
Depending on the availability of funds, grants will be provided to support successful research applications from researchers and research projects, at Sydney Medical School. These may include researchers based at one of three burn units affiliated with the School:
- Concord Burns Unit, Concord Hospital
- Burns Unit, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead
- Royal North Shore Hospital Burn Unit
All grant applications will be judged on their scientific merit by the Sydney Medical School Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), chaired by the Dean, and the Council of the Sydney Burns Foundation.
Current research projects in the field of burns medicine and reconstructive surgery at Sydney Medical School include those highlighted in this section.
Call for applications
The Sydney Burns Foundation is currently accepting applications for "research conducted at Concord Hospital’s Burn Unit to develop a fully-functioning replacement skin for burn patients.”
The award totals $50,000 for one year.
Applications must be submitted by Friday 30 August 2013.
