Sydney Medical School Pain Management Symposia 2014

Do you want to learn more about the treatment and management of pain?

This is an opportunity to learn how to help prevent acute and sub-acute pain from progressing to chronic and disabling pain, and to understand how to work with other health professionals to achieve this goal.

We are hosting interactive seminars at Coffs Harbour, Penrith, and Dubbo where we will examine the treatment and management of pain in the community from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Presenters will include experts from the University of Sydney Pain Management Research Institute (PMRI) and the local pain units. There will be an opportunity to actively participate in case based discussions.

The day will focus on pragmatic approaches to improving the care of patients in pain, and help you understand and assess the extent and nature of their problem. We will teach you how to develop a biopsychosocial framework to guide treatment planning and orgabisation of pain management interventions.

A full program for the symposia will be coming soon.
