MBBS approved for another decade

1 December 2005
The Australian Medical Council (AMC) has confirmed the accreditation of the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course at the University of Sydney until 2016.
“I am delighted that the Australian Medical Council has accredited the Faculty and its Medical Program for the maximum possible period”, said Professor Andrew Coats, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. “The Faculty's enthusiasm for maintaining the quality of the Program is strong for which I am most grateful. We could not deliver quality medical education without the support of so many of our staff, both those employed by the University and, very importantly, our colleagues in the health care system spread from Sydney north to Lismore and west to Broken Hill.”
The ten year course accreditation by the AMC is subject to a satisfactory report half-way through this period in 2010. For further information visit the AMC website www.amc.org.au.
