Simon Willcock announced as Chairman of GPET Board

Dr Simon Willcock, Senior Lecturer at the Academic Unit of General Practice and Sub-Dean of the Northern Clinical School has been appointed the Chairman of General Practice Education and Training (GPET) Ltd.

Dr Willcock is also the Associate Dean (Curriculum) in the University’s Faculty of Medicine, a senior examiner for the Australian Medical Council and a councillor of the Australian Postgraduate Federation in Medicine.

Established in 2001 by the Australian Government, the GPET develops, oversees and funds Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) for postgraduate medical practitioners.

Dr Willcock joins board members from major GP stakeholder groups and independent members appointed by the Australian Government. All appointments to the GPET Board are made by the Federal Minister for Health and Ageing, Mr Tony Abbott.
