Major medical publication recognised by BMA

An important new book reviewing recent developments in the workings of the human spinal cord, jointly authored by University of Sydney academic Professor David Burke, Director of Research at the University's Faculty of Medicine, has been highly commended in the prestigious British Medical Association (BMA) Book Competition Awards 2006.

The Circuitry of the Human Spinal Cord: Its Role in Motor Control and Movement Disorders, authored by David Burke (University of Sydney) and Emmanuel Pierrot-Deseilligny (Groupe Hospitalier Pitié-Salpétrière, Paris), provides a detailed overview of the major advances in our understanding of the spinal circuitry of the human spinal cord, examined in both health and disease.
