Congratulations to PHAA scholarship winner
Mohamud Sheikh, a Doctor of Public Health candidate, has been awarded the Public Health Association of Australia's 2006 PHERT award. Mohamud's research is on the health of refugees from sub-Saharan Africa. The Public Health Education and Research Trust (PHERT) supports this annual post-Masters research scholarship which is competitive and only available to PHAA members.
It was awarded for the first time at the 2005 PHAA Annual Conference at the Annual Dinner in Perth and Mohamud will be presented with his award at the PHAA Annual Dinner conference at Martin Place.
"Mohamud has worked incredibly hard to continue his highly worthwhile research with very little funding, so this award is very well deserved. "said Kathy Flitcroft, Executive Officer from the School of Public Health, University of Sydney
