Shared vision inspires extraordinary work in Cambodia

6 February 2007
Dr Phalyka Oum from Cambodia is one of three recipients of AusAID - Australian Leadership Award Scholarships awarded to PhD students to undertake their studies in the Faculty through the International Public Health Program. She recently completed her MPH at Johns Hopkins University.
Phalyka helped develop a documentary film, "A few drops in Cambodia: Stories from a Relief Effort", produced by a group at the University of Southern California and officially released last year. The documentary highlights the challenges NGOs/donors face seeking to provide health care to those most in need in Cambodia.
Phalyka is joining the Faculty to do her PhD starting Semester 2 2007 on cost effective mechanisms for the delivery of PHC services to people in Cambodia (supervised by Steve Leeder and John Hall).
