Two young postdoctoral researchers from the Faculty of Medicine have been awarded Cure Cancer Australia Foundation grants for 2007. They are Dr Robert Sutak, Department of Pathology, for research into prostate cancer and Dr Xiao Huang, Department of Dermatology, for research into skin cancer.

Cure Cancer Australia funds the critical early work of brilliant researchers searching for cures for cancer and aims to be Australia's leading independent foundation for cancer research. The Foundation is particularly keen to support young postdoctoral researchers with 'start up' grants and to encourage novel research from any investigator.

These grants continue the tradition of success for University of Sydney researchers in obtaining such grants. In 2006 Dr David Lovejoy, Department of Pathology, and Dr Ben Gu, Department of Haematology, Nepean Hospital, were grant recipients.
