Winner of Best Article Prize to be awarded

Dr Ramon Varcoe, 2006 Winner of the Best Article Prize by Young Investigators under 35, based on his research at the Westmead Vascular Biology Research Centre will be awarded his prize in Geneva next month.

The Young Investigator prizes are awarded by the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and will be presented during the 21st ISTH (International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis) Congress. Dr Varcoe's article, "The role of the fibrocyte in intimal hyperplasia" was based on research conducted for his Master of Surgery in 2005 at the University of Sydney.

Dr Varcoe is currently working at Westmead Hospital in his final year of Vascular Surgery training and has just received his FRACS.
