ARC Future Fellowships for Dr David Hunter and Associate Professor Jane Latimer

Although the ARC does not usually support medical projects two of the applicants supported by the Sydney Medical School have won prestigious ARC Future Fellowships (2009-2013):

  • Dr David J Hunter (Project: The early osteoarthritis (OA) phenotype) who was awarded $616,900 over five years and is coming to us from Boston and going to work at Northern Clinical School. We look forward to welcoming him.
  • Associate Professor Jane Latimer (Project: Innovative solutions to primary care management of back pain) $731,572 over five years. Associate Professor Latimer works at the George Institute of International Health. We look forward to Jane’s continuing high level of achievement.

Sydney Medical School supported a total of eight applications to this scheme, representing a success rate of 25% which is slightly higher than the success rate of the University of Sydney overall.
