Orange campus has moved

The Orange Campus of the School of Rural Health, Sydney Medical School has moved to its new temporary lodgings in Audley Clinic in the southern suburb of Bloomfield. This is seven years after commencement in 2004 on land adjacent to the Orange Base Hospital.
This corresponds to the official move of the Orange Base Hospital from the CBD to the new Bloomfield Campus. It is a 220 bed state-of-the-art General Hospital. When combined with the 270 psychiatric beds in new facilities it becomes a 500 bed regional referral centre. It will continue to provide clinical experience to some 30 Sydney Medical School students in Stage 3.
The University of Sydney has a development application for a $1 million renovation project of the Audley Building in the same campus to provide modern teaching and administration functions. Accommodation for medical students will remain in the environs of the old Orange Base Hospital.
