Blackmores Sydney Marathon - Fundraiser for the Hoc Mai Foundation
On 18th September 2011, 3000 runners will line up at Milsons Point with one common goal: to survive 42.2km of pain, along a beautiful course that includes running over the Harbour Bridge, all the way out to Centennial Park and back again to finish at the Opera House.
This year four Northern students, Ed Ho, James Lithgow, Matt Silsby and Richard Blennerhassett will be among the crowd running for the Hoc Mai Foundation. Hoc Mai is a not-for-profit foundation of the University of Sydney, established to improve medical education in Vietnam by a partnership of Australia and Vietnamese medical/healthcare knowledge and experience. Over the past couple of years these students have been privileged to spend time in Vietnam, working in Vietnamese hospitals and gaining an appreciation of the medical and social issues that face the people of Vietnam.
