We would like to add our congratulations to the very worthy recipients of a MEMBER (AM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION in the latest Queens birthday Honour list . What a fantastic honour!

Professor Michael Field: For service to medical education as an academic and teacher, particularly in the field of nephrology, as a clinician, and through contributions to a range of professional organisations.

Professor Bruce Robinson: For service to medicine in the field of endocrinology as a clinician, researcher and university administrator, and through the establishment and leadership of the Hoc Mai Australian Vietnam Medical Foundation.

Dr Raymond Raper: For service to medicine in the field of intensive care as a clinician, researcher and educator, and through contributions to professional associations.

Dr Keith Hartman: For service to medicine in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology as a clinician, and through executive and fundraising roles with the Friends of the Mater Foundation.

Professor Dominic Rowe: For service to medicine in the field of neurology through contributions to people with Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinson’s disease as a clinician, researcher, educator and administrator.


Our Electives Coordinator, Kelly Bird, has left the “nest” after almost 5 years. We want to take this opportunity to thank Kelly for all she has contributed in her role of electives officer for the School and wish her all the best for her future. We will miss her friendly face in the office!



Martin Crawford joined the Sydney Medical School-Northern in June 2012 as Education Support Officer. Martin will be coordinating the Electives and the Perinatal Women’s Health blocks of the medical program at Northern.

Martin previously worked with international students at Macquarie University and has experience in administration in several other Universities. He enjoys playing and watching soccer.
