Discipline of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology

The Discipline of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology promotes research-led excellence in clinical care for women and their babies.

With this strong foundation, the Discipline offers outstanding clinical, academic and research opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the areas of health relating to women (from pre-reproductive care to child-bearing and postmenopausal years) and newborn babies.

Research and teaching activities are carried out at Central Clinical School, Nepean Clinical School, Northern Clinical School, School of Rural Health (based at Dubbo and Orange), Sydney Adventist Hospital Clinical School and Western Clinical School. Across these various sites (pictured in the left panel, above) students are able to gain a wealth of experience working/learning/researching alongside clinical teams committed to the provision of the highest possible standards and continuing developments in health care for women and babies.

The Discipline also has strong teaching and research linkages in Southeast Asia in the areas of women's, maternal and newborn health.
