Research interests
Dr O'Toole is the Director of the Australian Vietnam Veterans Family Health Study, which was the first national epidemiological cohort study ever conducted in Australia of the post-war health of war veterans and their families.
His secondary interests lie in the field of psychosis, with a recent study into the treatment effectiveness in first episode psychotic disorder, accumulating a cohort of 451 first episode patients in 3 States (9 Area Health services) and examining short term treatment effectiveness.
