PhD 2002 - clinical and genetic aspects of pheochromocytoma and abdominal paragangliomas
Research interests
Current research projects:
* Incidence, location and predictive factors for additional nodal involvement in breast cancer patients with micrometastasis or isolated tumour cells in the sentinel node.
* Nipple-sparing mastectomy - aesthetic and surgical outcome and survey of patient satisfaction
* Skin reducing mastectomy - lessons learned from the first 20 cases
* Co-investigator on the "OSNA (one-step nucleic acid assay in assessment of sentinel node)" trial run by the Pathology Department at Westmead Hospital.
* Co-investigator on the "Rapid Turnover for Genetic Testing in Breast Cancer" trial run by the Familial Cancer Services at Westmead Hospital.
* "Can proteomic profiling predict axillary lymph node status in patients with early breast cancer?" in collaboration with Prof Baxter at Kolling Institute of Medical Research and Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney.
