Biographical details

Dr Frank Beard is a public health physician who graduated in medicine from the University of Auckland and then worked as a GP in Sydney for 15 years before undertaking his speciality training. He has extensive experience in communicable disease surveillance, prevention and control, and is currently Staff Specialist - Public Health Physician, Coverage, Evaluation and Surveillance at the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance, and Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health, University of Sydney.

Research interests

Vaccine preventable diseases epidemiology, including measurement of vaccination coverage and the impact of vaccination on burden of disease, immunisation program evaluation, and the translation of evidence into policy and practice.
