Professor Farhat Yusuf has a first class BSc (Hons.) and MA in Statistics from the University of Punjab (Pakistan) and PhD in Demography from the Australian National University.

Before joining the University of Sydney he was a Professor of Business and Demography at Macquarie University, Sydney. During his tenure at Macquarie he held many important positions such as Head of the then Department of Business (now Department of Marketing and Management) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (2003-2006), and was an elected member of the Academic Senate for six years (2003-2009). In 2011, Macquarie University conferred on him the title of Emeritus Professor.

He also held visiting appointments in prestigious institutions such as Princeton and Cornell universities in USA, City and Southampton universities in UK and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. [Hide detail]
