Biographical details

Jon trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and sub-specialized in Maternal and Fetal Medicine in the UK. He is currently Joint Head of the Discipline of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonataology, University of Sydney. He is involved nationally with the Nuchal Translucency Accreditation Program of RANZCR / RANZCOG and internationally with the obstetric ultrasound accreditation programs run by the Fetal Medicine Foundation, UK.

Research interests

1. Prenatal diagnosis in the first trimester of pregnancy.

2. The development of noninvasive prenatal diagnosis.

3. Quality assurance in obstetric ultrasound.

4. The management of twin pregnancies.

Teaching areas

Jon is involved in teaching medical and postgraduate students in the Central Clinical School. Medical students are introduced to obstetrics through bedside and outpatient interaction with pregnant women as well as discussion of obstertic management in weekly seminars. Postgraduates are trained in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound and supervised in both clinical and lab based research projects.
