Biographical details

Research interests

I am interested in health services research, especially as it relates to stigmatized conditions and marginalised populations. My key interests are sexual health and drug and alcohol use, generally in relation to young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and LGBTI people. I am a Board Member of ACON Health (New South Wales’ leading health promotion organisation specialising in HIV and LGBTI), and in partnership with ACON, I run the biennial Sydney Women and Sexual Health (SWASH) survey.

Teaching and supervision

Most of my work employs qualitative research, and often participatory and creative methods.

I am the Academic Director and Course Coordinator of the Sydney Qualitative Health Research postgraduate coursework program.
